JETCAM Orders Controller helps Production Controllers go paperless

The latest release of JETCAM Orders Controller (JOC) includes a powerful new document linking feature, aimed at reducing the shop floor paper trail and providing a single location for accessing relevant documents. Staff can drag and drop any type and quantity of files onto a component or assembly that will be subsequently nested, making it very easy to locate associated documents such as CAD drawings, orders, quality or works documents.

JOC is used to create order lists of parts that are to be nested for cutting on a CNC punch or profiling machine. Users can send components or complete assemblies to an order list and then pass them to JETCAM Expert CADCAM software for nesting with one click. The new document linking feature allows staff to associate any type of file (Word, PDF, DXF, DWG etc.), with the number of associated documents instantly visible in the Files, Assemblies or Material Stock screens. The left pull-out pane displays each document name. Double-clicking the document name opens the file, and users can also quickly see where the file is located on their PC or network by hovering over it to see a tooltip.

Said Martin Bailey, General Manager of JETCAM International s.a.r.l.; “Document linking provides an extremely user-friendly way of decluttering the production office and delivering a ‘one stop location’ for any related documents. This will be especially beneficial to companies where quality and traceability are an issue.”

Document linking also extends to material stock and is included in JOC Premium and Premium Automation versions. It is available as a free update to all users with a current maintenance contract.
