What happens after installation, who else uses JETCAM and other issues
Q. Can I use my existing PC's?
Yes, as long as it confirms to minimum specifications set out bellow (many JETCAM dealers can also supply you with PCs, both for JETCAM Expert nesting software and for your DNC link software to the machine tool(s) on the shop floor).
Q. What specification of PC will I need to run JETCAM?
All versions
of JETCAM will run well on a Pentium II class PC with
128MB RAM. It is compatible with Windows 2000, XP or Vista, We would recommend a system specification of Pentium IV or greater, 512MB-1GB ram minimum. If you are running High Performance Nesting then we would recommend more memory and higher specification CPU to take full advantage of it. There are no specific graphics card requirements as JETCAM Expert is optimised not to require GPU acceleration, therefore the standard on-board graphics card that is built into your PC should be sufficient. A screen resolution of 1024x768 or greater is recommended at either 24 or 32 bit colour depth. We no longer support NT4. JETCAM Expert takes up less than 100MB
of hard disc space, unless you wish to install the Video
Help files, which will require several hundred megabytes.
Q. Will JETCAM run on an Apple Mac computer?
It depends on the Mac. If you have a newer model with an Intel CPU capable of running Windows then the answer is Yes. We have several Apple Mac users that are running JETCAM Expert to generate nests for their CNC machines.
Q. My PC crashed and I need to reinstall the JETCAM dongle drivers - where can I get them.
You can get them from our dongle driver page here.
Q. Will JETCAM work with my CNC machines?
Almost certainly yes,
even with older machines. You can view a general list
of supported punching, laser, plasma, waterjet, routing and composite cutting machines online.
Many machine accessories (such as loaders, RAS) are
also supported. If you would like further confirmation,
contact your local office.

This
varies from dealer to dealer, but usually is around two
weeks.
